About TestUstad

Free, explained MCQ preparation for Pakistan's entry tests, government job tests and language tests.

Why this exists

Preparation in Pakistan mostly means a photocopied guide book or a PDF forwarded through a WhatsApp group. Both give you a question and a letter: B. Neither tells you why B, so a student who gets it wrong learns nothing except that they got it wrong, and the same mistake comes back on the paper.

TestUstad was built on one rule: every question carries a written explanation. Not a key, not a page reference, a few sentences saying why the correct option is correct. It is the slowest part of building this site and it is the only part that actually teaches.

The name means "master", in the sense of a teacher. That is the tone we aim for: someone who knows the paper, explains it plainly, and does not sell you a guarantee.

Who it is for

Students sitting MDCAT, ECAT, NTS and university entry tests, candidates preparing for PPSC, FPSC and other commission job tests, and anyone working through a language test. Most of them are on a mid-range Android phone on a 3G or 4G connection, which is why this site is built to be light and to work on a small screen first.

What is on the site

50,000+ published MCQs across 20 subjects, organised chapter by chapter, mapped to 82 exams, each with the correct answer and a written explanation. Alongside them sit syllabus and paper pattern pages for each exam, and past papers you can sit online under real timing.

All of that is free, unlimited, and needs no account. Not a sample, not a trial that expires: the whole published bank.

How the questions are written

  • Sourced from the syllabus, not from competitors. We do not scrape other MCQ sites. Questions are written against the conducting body's own published syllabus and its released past papers.
  • Checked for duplicates against the entire bank before import, so you do not meet the same question twice in a session under different wording.
  • Corrected fast. Report a wrong answer and fixing it goes to the front of the queue. This is the single most useful thing a reader can send us.

We are not perfect and we do not claim to be. What we can be is quick to fix things. See the disclaimer for the limits of what anything here is worth.

How the site pays for itself

Two ways, and we would rather say so plainly than have you guess.

  • Advertising. Ads on the free pages are served by third-party ad networks. We do not choose the individual ads, and an ad appearing here is not a recommendation. What data those networks collect is set out in the privacy policy.
  • Exam packs. Full-length mock tests and long-term progress tracking for one exam are paid. That is the only thing behind a paywall, and the practice bank stays free whether or not you ever buy one. Prices are on the pricing page.

We do not sell your data, and no advertiser gets your name, your email or your results.

Independence
